Injured in a construction accident? Workers' comp may help

Being involved in an injury-causing accident can be a frightening experience. If a worker is injured in a construction accident, he or she may face considerable difficulties pertaining to both the physical and financial aspects of the aftermath. Luckily, workers' compensation may be awarded in many cases, and if a North Carolina worker is injured on the job, these benefits may help.

One individual in another state may be hoping to gain such compensation after recently being the victim of an on-the-job accident. Reports stated that the 22-year-old man was part of a construction crew working on an apartment complex when he fell into a cement mixer. At the time of the report, it was unclear how the incident may have occurred.

Another individual heard the man screaming and was able to shut off the machine. Fire crews were called to the scene to assist in rescuing the man. The mixer had to be taken apart piece by piece because other methods were deemed too risky. Details were not available about the extent of the injuries that the man may have suffered, but it was mentioned that his ankle had become wrapped around part of the machine.

Because a construction accident could easily lead to fatal injuries in some cases, the man in this incident may be grateful to have survived. However, he and North Carolina workers who have similarly been injured on the job may face considerable difficulties, nonetheless. If injured workers are interested in their ability to potentially gain workers' compensation to assist with allowable financial strains, utilizing local resources to find out more information may be useful.
