North Carolina construction worker dies in accident

Worker accidents can take place in any job setting, whether it is in an office or on a construction site. It is an employer's duty to do everything in its power to create safe workplace settings for employees so they can work without fear of injury. Employers should also create awareness about safety procedures and provide safety training for employees to familiarize them with ways to keep themselves safe.

When an accident does take place, an injured employee has certain rights, such as filing for workers' compensation. A workers' compensation claim can make funds available for workers and this compensation can cover their medical expenses and replace wages lost if they take time off from work. When a worker dies due to the injury, their family may be able to file the claim on their behalf. The family of a North Carolina construction worker may be considering these issues as they learned about the death of the worker on a university construction site in another state.

The 24-year-old worker passed away as a result of the injuries he suffered in a construction workers' accident. According to investigators, the wind blew, causing plywood to fall from a crane. The plywood fell on the worker, leaving him with severe head injuries.

Although nothing can replace the loss felt by someone who loses a loved one in a construction workers' accident, a workers' compensation claim can help ease financial burdens as family members come to terms with their loss. In addition to this, if the deceased was the breadwinner of the family, compensation gleaned through a successful claim may tide the family over.
