EMS workers injured on the job after North Carolina accident

Emergency crew workers are often the ones tending to individuals who have been hurt in accidents. However, these workers could be at risk of suffering injuries themselves while on the job. An individual could be injured on the job under a variety of circumstances, and as a result, workers' compensation benefits may be awarded.

It was recently reported that three emergency medical service workers were injured in an accident in North Carolina. The workers were inside an ambulance with a patient when the ambulance was hit by another vehicle. The ambulance was traveling south, and the other vehicle attempted to make a turn. The driver of the second vehicle did not remain on the scene of the crash after getting out of the vehicle and leaving on foot.

All three EMS workers and the patient were transported to an area hospital to be treated for their injuries. The injuries were not considered life-threatening, but additional information on those injuries were not given in the report. The crash was still under investigation, and authorities are likely continuing to search for the other driver involved.

Because the emergency service workers were injured on the job, they could potentially face difficulties. If their injuries were severe, they may even need time away from work in order to recover, which could potentially lead to lost wages and other financial hardships. As a result, they may want to determine whether they qualify for workers' compensation and look into information on how to pursue such benefits in North Carolina in order to contend with medical expenses, lost wages and other allowable difficulties.
