Workplace injuries may plague North Carolina construction workers

Working in construction is a profession that many individuals use as a form of employment. These workers often work to build structures and perform a variety of duties that may require the use of equipment and machinery. Though many work days may move smoothly, there is a chance that workplace injuries could occur due to an accident taking place.

North Carolina residents may be interested in an accident that recently took place in another state. Reports indicated that a man was operating a front-end loader on a construction site when he drove over a trench. This action caused the loader to turn over and trap him. Emergency crews were called to the scene, and it took them three hours to free the man.

Reports stated that the incident caused the man to suffer two fractures in his hip. The injuries required surgery, and after he was rescued, he was taken from the scene to an area hospital. The man was reported as being approximately 50 years old, and his condition was unclear at the time of the report.

Workplace injuries can, at times, be very serious, and as this situation resulted in the man needing surgery, it is likely he will have to spend time away from work in order to recover. North Carolina residents who have been injured in similar work accidents and have to miss work may find themselves facing financial struggles as a result. Luckily, workers' compensation may be able to help supplement missing income and other financial strains resulting from the accident. Information on these benefits may be useful to interested individuals.
