North Carolina EMS worker injured on the job in ambulance crash

Work-related accidents can happen under any number of circumstances. Those circumstances can play major roles in the severity of the incidents, and it is common for workers to be injured on the job because of these accidents. In many cases, such events could be preventable.

It was recently reported that an accident in North Carolina resulted in the injury of one worker. Apparently, two EMS workers were in an ambulance with one driving and the other riding as a passenger. At some point, the EMS driver fell asleep behind the wheel. The ambulance left the road, struck a curb and continued traveling approximately 70 feet before hitting a concrete retaining wall. It was reported that the incident took place at 6:20 a.m.

The driver of the ambulance did not suffer any injuries in the incident. The other EMS worker was injured, but details on those injuries were not given in the report. It was mentioned that the injuries did not appear to be life-threatening. No other vehicles or individuals were reported as being involved in the accident.

Being injured on the job is a fear of many people. Unfortunately, any job can pose hazards that could result in injuries from work-related accidents.
