North Carolina workers may be interested in construction accident

On-the-job accidents are often frightening events that may result in individuals suffering greatly. Working in construction is one of the most often thought of areas in which such incidents could occur, and it is true that these workers face a variety of hazards. If individuals are injured in a construction accident, they may need assistance moving forward.

North Carolina residents may be interested in such an accident that recently took place in a nearby state. Reports indicated that a construction crew was working on a  home that is under construction, and one worker was holding ropes attached to a crane while the crane lifted trusses to the top of the house. While doing so, the crane came close to a power line, and an arc of electricity hit the truck.

The arc caused the man holding the ropes to be electrocuted and to catch on fire. Another worker who was on the ground was hit by trusses that fell from the crane. Both workers were seriously injured in the incident and had to be airlifted from the scene to the hospital. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration was on site to investigate after the event.

Though a construction accident such as this one may not be easily foreseen, the repercussions of such an event are often hard to overlook. If North Carolina workers are seriously injured on the job, it is not unlikely for them to be faced with financial hardships as a result. In such cases, information on workers’ compensation may be useful, and consulting with experienced attorneys may be a wise step in gaining reliable knowledge.
