“I know it sounds trite, but I like helping people —

it’s that simple.

EVERY DAY, I COME INTO THE OFFICE READY TO FIGHT FOR THOSE INJURED WORKERS WHO ARE NOT ABLE TO MAKE THE SYSTEM WORK PROPERLY WITHOUT LEGAL REPRESENTATION.”

Being injured on the job may lead to fatalities in North Carolina

Any type of profession could lead to an individual being a position where he or she could become injured or ill. Unfortunately, being injured on the job can have many impacts that can negatively affect the workers or their families. In some instances, work-related injuries could even prove fatal, and surviving loved ones may have many financial hardships to handle on top of their grief.

North Carolina residents may be interested in a fatal situation that recently took place in a nearby state. Reports indicated that the accident occurred at a UPS shipping center. Apparently, a worker stepped off of a loading dock as a tractor-trailer was backing into the same area. As a result, the individual was on the ground between the dock door and the truck, and he was hit by the truck’s trailer.

The driver of the truck did not realize that anyone was injured until after the accident. The UPS worker was transported from the scene to an area hospital and was initially considered to be in critical condition. He later died due to the injuries he suffered. He was reported as being 48 years old.

The family of this man are undoubtedly heartbroken by the sudden event. When being injured on the job results in the loss of life, it is understandable that families may struggle in various ways. When it comes to dealing with the financial implications resulting from loss of income and other related challenges, workers’ compensation benefits may be able to help.
