Rebar tower collapses lead to workplace injuries

Being injured on the job can happen to anyone, and many people are often left with job-related injuries. The type of workplace injuries may depend on the exact kind of accident that occurred, and in some cases, individuals may be able to walk away without suffering significant harm while others need medical attention. For the latter cases, issues with their finances could also result from the physical trauma endured.

North Carolina residents may be interested in a construction accident that recently took place in another state. Reports indicated that the project involved a high-speed rail system, and five workers were injured when two rebar towers collapsed. One tower struck a second tower, which crashed down on the workers. It was unclear what exactly caused this incident to take place.

Though five individuals were injured, only two workers were taken from the scene to an area hospital due to the seriousness of their injuries. At the time of the report, the incident was still under investigation by multiple agencies. Additional information on what may have led to the injury-causing incident may become available once investigations conclude.

When North Carolina workers are seriously injured in job-related incidents, they may face numerous worries. In particular, their medical bills and lost wages may result in their feeling especially anxious, as financial issues could make such a situation even worse. Luckily, many workplace injuries qualify parties for workers’ compensation. Information on these benefits could help interested individuals determine whether they could qualify for financial assistance during and/or after their recovery.
