North Carolina residents may be interested in a fatal work-related accident that recently occurred in another state. Reports indicated that the man worked at a hydraulic motors plant and that the incident took place when he and others were conducting a motor testing operation. During this procedure, a safety hood reportedly hit the man. It was unclear what exactly caused this accident to happen.

The incident resulted in the man suffering injuries that proved fatal. He was apparently still at the plant when he died. The man was reported as being 45 years old. The incident is currently under investigation, and it was noted that the company has plans to replace all other safety hoods in hopes of preventing this type of event from happening again.

Unfortunately, any number of circumstances could lead to fatal workplace injuries. If North Carolina families have lost loved ones in similar events or other job-related incidents, they may wonder how they will deal with the financial repercussions. However, workers’ compensation benefits may be able to help surviving families with monetary challenges. Discussing these benefits and the application process with knowledgeable attorneys may help interested parties determine whether they may qualify.
