400-pound window leaves worker injured in construction accident

When a person first hears a few details regarding a work-related accident, he or she may not think it was that serious. However, for the individuals involved who were injured, the situation may have been more severe than outside parties could have known. Unfortunately, a construction accident could take place that has such outcomes and leaves workers in pain and struggling in other ways.

North Carolina readers may be interested in an accident that took place in another state. Reports indicated that a man was working as part of a construction crew who were carrying out renovations on a building that is over 100 years old. A window was being taken out of the building when it fell on the man and pinned him down. It was unclear where the man was at the time of the incident or how far the window fell.

It was reported that the window weighed 400 lbs. Firefighters were able to get the man out from under the window, and he was put in a rescue basket in order to be transferred from the building to the ground. Reports indicated that the man suffered injuries to his back and leg, and an ambulance transported him from the scene to the hospital.

When individuals hear that a window fell on a worker, they may not think much of the construction accident, but when details such as its weight emerges, the seriousness of the incident becomes apparent. If North Carolina workers have been injured in similar events or other construction accidents, they may be suffering pain and financial stress of their own.
