Falls can lead to individuals needing workers’ compensation

Medical expenses are often an outcome of suffering serious injuries. In many cases, seeking medical attention is necessary in order to obtain the proper treatment for the injuries suffered. However, the costs that come along with treatment can often be high and burdensome. If a worker is injured on the job, workers’ compensation may be able to help with these expenses and other related financial issues.

North Carolina residents may be interested in a work-related accident that recently took place in another state. Reports indicated that a window washer was working to clean a window on the outside of a hospital building when he fell from the platform on which he was working. Apparently, the man’s safety harness let go, which resulted in his dropping four stories.

The man landed between two buildings, which made it difficult for emergency crews to rescue him, but he was successfully taken to a hospital for treatment. Reports indicated that the fall resulted in his suffering serious injuries to at least one leg. It was noted that the injuries were not considered life-threatening. The deputy fire chief stated that due to weather conditions, the man should not have been out working at the time of the accident.

Falls from any height can cause serious injuries, and if North Carolina workers are involved in such an accident, they could suffer harm themselves. Because medical costs can easily exceed thousands of dollars in cases of serious injuries, many workers may wonder how they will deal with such expenses. Fortunately, qualifying individuals may be able to obtain workers’ compensation that can help cover these costs and other financial burdens related to the accident.
